Many years ago while studying Economics (I have a MS)I wrote a paper on currency. This paper is now a part of a book that is a standard text book in third level Money and Banking Econ courses in Major US Universities.
That being said - I beg to differ with your comment on my Blog.
A dollar coin is totally worthless, just as our penny is totally worthless (It just exists for tax purposes). However you are correct in saying that it is more durable than the Paper dollar.
Paper dollars are also worthless, they are only used for chang, just like pennies.
What can you buy with just one dollar? Not Much!
