Dang! That's a lot of Tolkien
J.R.R. Tolkien was quite the Beowulf feind. He stole so much from Beowulf for Lord Of the Rings. My lit class is full of LOTR nerd...for example. Who else knows the old english phrase that Theodin King of the Rohan sayss when he charges into battle...weird.

I'm a former Rings freak. Beowulf is a long, hard read no? Reading the two would be interesting for comparison.
No, Beowulf isn't really that hard, unless you try to read it in old english...which is an entirely different language - it has characters that don't exist anymore - JRR took so much from Beowulf and put them into LOTR, you could probably make a lit course out of it.
